The Realtors Association of Saint Lucia has reintroduced itself after holding its first Annual General Meeting in about eight years, installing a new Board of Directors on 12 May 2026 and signalling a renewed push for professionalism, accountability and industry regulation.
The association said it has restored its legal and administrative standing after a lengthy period of dormancy. Its return comes as Saint Lucia prepares for proposed Real Estate Brokers and Agents legislation, which would introduce the island’s first formal licensing regime for real estate professionals.
The new board is led by President J. K. Murray of Caribbean Habitats and The Concierge Group. Other officers include Welcome St. Rose as First Vice President, Kate Larcher as Second Vice President, Asnia Ste Marie Simba as Secretary, Vanessa Julien as Assistant Secretary, Wilbertha King as Treasurer, and Anselm Mathurin as Ex Officio Member and Immediate Past Acting President.
RASL said the proposed legislation could mark a major turning point for the sector by strengthening consumer protection, improving accountability, raising professional standards and discouraging unqualified or unethical operators.
The association said it intends to work with government, regulators, financial institutions and industry stakeholders to support the introduction of the new framework while representing trained and ethical real estate professionals.
Its renewed priorities include professional development, continuing education, public awareness, compliance training, anti money laundering education, improved governance and stronger engagement with regulators.
“The real estate sector continues to play a major role in Saint Lucia’s economy and national development,” the newly elected board said. It added that formal regulation makes a credible professional association more important, particularly in helping clients and property owners better understand the complexity of sales and rental transactions.
RASL is now encouraging brokers, agents, developers, property managers and affiliated professionals across Saint Lucia to become members and take part in shaping the future of the profession.
Its immediate priorities include expanding membership, improving representation across the sector and serving as a unified voice on issues affecting real estate professionals and consumers. Further details on membership, committees and upcoming initiatives are expected in the coming weeks.
